Episode 22- After Effects CS3, Picture Build Effect Part 2 - CG2 and VMT

In the finale of this exercise, I will add the 3D rotation to the graphics with a camera and null object. Some extra effects will be added to the original shatter, for the picture, to create the illusion of hot particles building the laser print. At the conclusion of this exercise, I will show how to make this work for any still graphic, making this a much more useful project to keep hanging around, worth all the effort used to create it. You will also see that, tied to episode 9, you may be able to find other uses, combining exercises or projects.

Episode 21- After Effects CS3, Picture Build Effect - CG2 and VMT

In part one of this exercise, I will create a very interesting effect, all with AE, and any still picture you would want to build. In the exercise, I will be using fractal noise, gradient ramps, mask shapes, Null objects and special effects to create the illusion of digitally printing a picture with hot lasers and small particles. This happens to be the effect I use for the introduction to my podcast episodes, but as you will see in part two, can be tailored to fit any still frame picture for an interesting TV or web banner spot.
